The 000-239 exam is IBM's gatekeeper for the IBM Sales Specialist (Legacy Server Portfolio) certification, a credential at the Professional level. Passing it says you can apply the IBM Eserver p5 sales objectives to real problems — a claim employers can act on. It also sits within a broader certification family covering IBM eServer pSeries Sales, IBM Power Systems Sales, IBM Sales Specialist Certifications, so the work you put in here compounds. Easier said than earned — which is exactly why structured practice beats self-directed wandering.

The IBM Eserver p5 sales blueprint spans 5 domains, led by Sales and Competitive Positioning, Operating Systems and Software Stack, and IBM Power Systems / eServer p5 Overview. Read the weightings as marching orders: the domain with the largest share of the score gets the largest share of your week. The full topic list is in the exam topics section above — study to it, not around it.

The IBM Eserver p5 sales exam packs 55-60 questions into 60 minutes. Convert that into a personal tempo before test day: minutes divided by questions is your per-item budget, and anything burning double its budget gets flagged and revisited at the end. Rehearse the tempo against a live timer — every ValidTorrent engine session enforces one — until finishing with review time to spare feels normal.

IBM lists the IBM Eserver p5 sales question formats as: Multiple choice, Scenario-based questions. Formats shape tactics — locate the actual question sentence inside long scenario stems before reading the rest, and re-verify every selection on multi-answer items. ValidTorrent's 138 practice questions drill these formats until only the content feels new on exam day.

The 000-239 exam is offered in English. Choose the language where your comprehension stays fastest under the clock — slow reading is a hidden tax on every question. If you test in English, daily sessions with ValidTorrent's English 000-239 practice questions double as vocabulary training.

The certification earned through the IBM Eserver p5 sales exam stays valid for Retired / no longer actively offered (historical certification). Mark the expiry date the day you pass and look into the recertification path early — a planned renewal is an errand, an expired credential is a project. IBM sets these rules, so confirm the current ones on the official certification page as your window approaches.

All three versions carry the same 138 expert-written questions — you're choosing a study environment, not a content tier:

Most candidates end up mixing formats — PDF for reading, an engine for timed rehearsal.
